After a job in Saudi Arabia, I wondered what was next—one unexpected idea changed the course of my life forever.
Throughout my life, I’ve always searched for the next big thing—ways to grow as an individual, improve as a professional, and make my life both bigger and better.
My first job out of college was as a welder; I quickly mastered everything there was in welding – from carbon and stainless steel, to pipe and tig. My dad, who worked in the oil business, offered me an opportunity to interview for a job in Saudi Arabia. I took the job, moved overseas, worked there for a number of years doing sales in various capacities, both as a representative and in management.
The president of manufacturing that I was working with to sell their material loved my tenacity and told me that if I ever wanted a change of pace, that I’d have a home with him – I took him up on the offer, which brought me back stateside. Stilling asking myself “What’s next?” - I had a real knack for sales, and discerned my next step was to be with the phone company GTE, which was acquired by Verizon.
Earning based on commission suited me perfectly, as I could continue to excel and be both recognized and compensated accordingly – which was then again the case in my next role at Dish Network selling satellite TV.
I knew I was ready for something even bigger - that’s when real estate came into the picture. I saw an opportunity to thrive while building meaningful connections and helping people navigate what might be the biggest purchase of their lives. I earned my license in 2002 and began my real estate career while still working at Dish Network. Already accustomed to commission-based work, I quickly found success and transitioned into being a full-time agent.
Then came the crash. Residential homes weren’t selling, nobody could get a loan - and still was a single father to my son and daughter, Lincoln and Danielle. I had to figure out a solution—and fast. Partnering with a lender, I co-founded M&T Funding. Together, we helped investors find homes in need of rehab, secured financing, managed the renovations, and resold the properties. This business ran for ten years and gave me invaluable expertise in real estate investment and flipping homes. Many of the investors I worked with remain friends and colleagues today.
In 2019, I took a new step, becoming a licensed broker. Today, I sell homes, assist buyers, and train new agents, sharing the lessons I’ve learned over 20+ years in the industry.
Outside of work, my now three sons and daughter are my greatest joy. I love spending time with them on the water, fishing from my bass boat in tournaments or just for fun—and cooking our catch. I also enjoy hunting, giving back to the community and volunteering with the Houston Rodeo Express.
Looking back, every stage of my journey—from welding to sales to real estate and investment—has shaped who I am today. I’ve learned that success comes not just from hard work, but from building connections, staying adaptable, and embracing the next big opportunity that life presents.
With 23 years of experience in real estate, I’ve navigated every kind of market and worked with a wide range of buyers and sellers — from selling large commercial properties to smaller family homes, including veterans to first-time homebuyers—helping each of them achieve their life goals. I pride myself on professionalism, accessibility and providing timely, accurate advice based on years of hands-on experience.
My deep knowledge of local neighborhoods allows me to view each property critically, as if I were buying it for myself. I always share honest opinions and potential red flags before contracts are signed. I’m a strong negotiator, committed to getting the best outcomes for my clients. I maintain a trusted network of vendors—from painters to plumbers—whose work I’ve personally vetted for quality and fair pricing.
Beyond sales, I continue to manage properties and perform rehabs, which keeps my real estate skills sharp and ensures I understand the full spectrum of needs. This combination of experience, integrity, and hands-on knowledge allows me to guide clients confidently through any market, providing the support and insight they need to make informed decisions with peace of mind.
